Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of chemical process systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. This role involves planning control systems for processes ranging from component removal and separation to chemical changes, fuel evaluation, heat transfer, and the handling of solids, liquids, and gases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process System Design: Develop detailed designs for chemical process systems, considering factors such as efficiency, safety, and compliance with specifications.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Monitor the operation and maintenance of equipment to achieve maximum efficiency while ensuring safe operating conditions.
  • Materials and Equipment Compliance: Ensure the correct materials and equipment are used, conforming to specifications and standards.
  • Fault Diagnosis and Remedial Action: Diagnose malfunctions in chemical plants and institute remedial action to maintain optimal operational performance.
  • Product Utilization and Pollution Control: Study product utilization and address pollution control problems to enhance environmental sustainability.
  • Material Selection and Review: Review plans for new products, providing material selection recommendations based on design specifications, strength, weight, and cost considerations.
  • Laboratory Operations: Plan and implement laboratory operations to develop new materials and fabrication procedures, aligning with production cost and performance standards.
  • Collaboration with Material Producers: Engage with producers of materials (metals, ceramics, polymers, etc.) during investigations and evaluations for materials suitable for specific product applications.
  • Product Failure Analysis: Review product failure data and conduct laboratory tests to establish or reject possible causes, advising on solutions to overcome identified problems.

Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in chemical process design and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, equipment, and their applications.
  • Ability to diagnose and address malfunctions efficiently.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and pollution control measures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team and independently.
