Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant to join our team and play a key role in providing comprehensive financial services to our clients. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of financial reporting, taxation, auditing, and advisory services. Your expertise will contribute to the effective governance, compliance, and strategic decision-making of both organizations and individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies to align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies.
  • Conduct financial investigations, prepare reports, and undertake audits, offering valuable insights on various financial matters such as business transactions, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency, and taxation.
  • Examine operating costs and analyze organizations’ income and expenditure, providing recommendations for cost management improvements.
  • Provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Offer expert financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operations to guide clients in making informed decisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive taxation returns for both individuals and organizations, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Liaise with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements, optimizing financial strategies for clients.
  • Introduce and maintain accounting systems, advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems for efficient financial management.
  • Maintain and enhance internal control systems to safeguard financial integrity and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Appraise cash flow and assess financial risk associated with capital investment projects.

Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in cost accounting and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and computer-based financial systems.
